Dear Partners in the Cattle Industry,

The continued interest in the VBP Program demonstrates its importance to Cattle Producers in Saskatchewan. As such, we have tried to accommodate those requests by offering both evening and afternoon workshops at locations accross the province. For the growing number of beef producers who take part in VBP, the time spent at a workshop is an important investment. The program helps a producer keep up to date with best practices, improve efficiency in their operations, and is a tool for teaching employees or family members. VBP is a trusted, recognized program in the marketplace. It will continue to play an important role in evolving regulatory and consumer expectations as food safety continues to grow as a public priority.

If you would like a workshop in your area, we would love to hear from you! Please call the office at 1-306-859-9110 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. More workshops are being planned, check back soon to find a workshop near you!

Sincerely,

Coy Schellenberg, BSA, PAg
Provincial Coordinator

Registered Producers

A True Commitment to Food Safety

  • To qualify for registration under the VBP audit program, cow/calf operations must implement the VBP program for at least six months; feedlot owners for at least three months.
  • The audit, which takes about a half day, involves a cost to have a trained auditor visit the operation and assess SOPs and documentation. Funding is available to cover half the cost.
  • Producers who successfully meet VBP criteria will be issued an official VBP registration certificate and can market their operation as VBP-registered.
