NEW BIOSECURITY PROGRAM!
Producer Funding Available for Vet Visits to Assess the Risks and Develop Protocols

Cows-Vista

To be Eligible, Producers Must Have:
Attend a Workshop and Receive the Vet Advice In-Person and On-Farm

50% up to $1000/producer

Eligible items include services provided by a Vet to undertake:

  • Biosecurity Assessment
  • Biosecurity Protocol Development

“Those practices that prevent or mitigate disease from entering, spreading within or being released from operations that may contain livestock.”

In 2013 the CCA and CFIA, along with beef industry input from other producer organizations, provincial/territorial governments, academia and AAFC, created the Canadian On-Farm Beef Cattle Biosecurity Standard and Implementation Manual.

These documents provide a set of risk management practices designed to assist producers in managing disease on all types of Canadian beef cattle operations. The Implementation Manual also includes a Biosecurity Self-Assessment Tool to help guide beef producers and their veterinarians in identifying biosecurity risks and suggested practices of prevention.
